For centuries the fishermen of Northern Norway have honed their skills in catching the finest white fish from the fresh, cold seas of the arctic. Always with respect for the environment and the produce.

We source only quality fish, landed by small coastal vessels. Returning from fishing trips that only last hours, the catch is professionally handled to make sure the quality is optimal when delivered to our customers.

Our foundation is the products landed by North-Norwegian fishermen, benefitting from a centuries-old tradition, with knowledge and expertise passed down from generation to generation.

Who We Are

Norfra A/S was established in 1984. We produce and export about 12,000 tons each year from the North of Norway. Our main products are fresh white fish, fillets, king crab and salted fish.

The mother company, Norfra A/S, is based in Troms and has three daughter companies operating our factories: Nordvågen AS, Torsvågbruket, and Nic. Haug.

At our factories, experienced leaders and foremen work in continuous contact with fishing vessels, and efficient logistics ensure that consumers receive exactly the quality and products they expect.

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us—it’s at the core of everything we do. From responsible fishing practices to supporting local communities, we’re committed to protecting Norway’s marine resources.

In 2023, we proudly opened Norway’s first wildfish visitor centre, Bruket – Fish Factory, located in Nordvågen. Far from an ordinary museum, our visitor centre is designed around experiential learning, creating unforgettable activities that engage all five senses and challenge visitors’ minds.

Most importantly, we showcase the authentic side of our industry and offer complete transparency in our production and operations.
