Skrei

The SKREI arrives to the coast from Lofoten in the south to Finmark in the north. Season is from 1 January to 30 April. The quality brand Skrei has been selected, processed and packaged according to specific requirements described in a separate quality standard - NS 9406. The purpose of the standard is to contribute to good and stable quality of the SKREI. Only SKREI that meet the strict requirements of the standard can be sold with the quality mark for SKREI, and only during the period January to April. The individual approved companies that brand and sell SKREI under the quality brand are responsible for the quality requirements being met. The Seafood Council manages the quality brand on behalf of the licensed packers and exporters. The Seafood Council follows up on the quality guarantee through a system of product inspections, carried out by an independent third party. The inspections are carried out at various places in the value chain: at packing / fillet plants, during transport and at the buyer.
